| We have incredible news! From today until 31 January 2021, public donations made to our Double The Love appeal will be doubled by the UK government, up to £2 million.
This generosity will bring new hope to families in Liberia where hunger prevents children from going to school, and more than half of children drop out before they finish primary education. Massa wakes at the crack of dawn to help with chores. The eight-year-old then walks 40 minutes each day to Vorkor Public School in Liberia, where she can look forward to receiving Mary’s Meals, which fills her empty stomach. She tells us: “Sometimes there is nothing for me to eat at home before I go to school, and I feel so hungry. The food I eat at school makes me feel good and happy, and helps me to concentrate in class. It also helps my mother as she finds it hard to find food for us all to eat.” Together, through this Double the Love campaign, we can help transform the lives of more than 43,000 hungry children, just like Massa, across 167 primary schools in Liberia.
