{"id":3362,"date":"2020-09-04T07:48:09","date_gmt":"2020-09-04T06:48:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stthomasneilston.co.uk\/?p=3362"},"modified":"2020-09-04T07:55:15","modified_gmt":"2020-09-04T06:55:15","slug":"spuc-online-petition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stthomasneilston.co.uk\/?p=3362","title":{"rendered":"SPUC online petition"},"content":{"rendered":"<table width=\"100%\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>Society for the protection of the Unborn Child (SPUC)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Two MPs are currently bringing forward bills to introduce buffer zones around abortion facilities to ban peaceful pro-life vigils.<\/p>\n<p>On 24 June 2020,\u00a0a huge majority (213 &#8211; 47) of MPs voted in favour of Dr Rupa Huq MP\u2019s Ten-Minute Rule Bill \u201cto restrict demonstrations in the vicinity of abortion clinics\u201d. This Bill comes up for second reading in the House of Commons on <strong>25 September<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Sarah Olney MP is also introducing a similar bill on <strong>30 October<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Neither bill is likely to move forward at this time. However, it shows that the abortion lobby\u00a0is determined to keep pushing to ban pro-lifers from offering crucial last minute help, to women in need.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Save the Right to Save Lives<\/strong><br \/>\nWe are launching a petition calling upon the Home Secretary \/ Scottish Justice Secretary to uphold the right of peaceful, law-abiding pro-life citizens to save the lives of unborn children and to offer help to pregnant women directly outside abortion clinics. The aim of the petition is to send a strong message to Parliament. Please go to \u00a0http:\/\/www.spuc.org.uk\/saveTheRightToSave<\/p>\n<p>and <strong>sign<\/strong> the petition. Please <strong>share <\/strong>the petition with friends and family via email and social media. Pro-life vigils outside abortion clinics can save unborn lives. The offer of help from a caring pro-life person is a lifeline for many women, who feel abortion is their only choice.
